To strengthen our interdisciplinary team, we are looking for a technical assistant to start immediately and support the laboratory work involved in challenging and exciting client and development projects. You will be an important part of the Mass Spectrometry Group and will also collaborate across functions with other groups within the company.
Your role and responsibilities:
- You will work independently and across teams on client and research projects in the field of proteomics
- You will be responsible for general laboratory operations
- You will maintain our state-of-the-art mass spectrometers and be responsible for troubleshooting the instruments
- You will establish and optimize new methods for proteomics sample preparation and drive our automation efforts forward
- You will process MS data and evaluate its quality
You´re a good fit for us because:
- You hold an M.Sc. degree in life sciences, biochemistry, biotechnology, or pharmacy, or have completed training as a BTA/CTA with at least three years of professional experience, or a comparable qualification
- You have at least one year of practical experience working with LC-MS systems and technologies. Experience with Thermo Fisher mass spectrometers is a plus
- You have extensive laboratory experience in proteomics and are familiar with various sample preparation and automation methods, ideally in an industrial setting
- You are proficient in using modern software for proteomics data analysis as well as MS Office applications
- You are able to plan, structure, and conduct experiments independently; you think analytically and develop solutions to problems in order to proactively drive projects forward
- You are interested in contributing to the optimization of workflows and the development of platforms, and you bring a proactive and improvement-oriented mindset to the role
- You work in a highly structured manner, take responsibility for your tasks, and are characterized by a strong sense of responsibility and great attention to detail
- You are a reliable and dedicated team player with a positive, flexible attitude; you work closely with scientists and deliver high-quality results on time
- You have excellent communication skills in German and/or English and communicate effectively in cross-functional teams
- You are motivated to continuously expand your technical and scientific knowledge through collaboration with an experienced team
